I know quite a few of you are not super impressed with mangoes, and the fact I chose mangoes.
Quite a few of you can just hush your mouths and listen.
I get to see the majority of what produce people buy. Unfortunately, I really get to see what produce people don’t buy. You got the basics and people stick to them, and sometimes they think that one bite will be enough for the day.
Trust me, I can’t stress enough that I’m not trying to make y’all into vegetarians. I have nothing against vegetarians either, I majorly respect them and their willpower. I just love steak too much to say goodbye. But there are so many out there who consider macaroni and cheese a vegetable. They are confusing side dishes with fruits and vegetables and not really as an integral part of their diet. The more color in your diet the better.
With all that being said, yes, I’ve never had the wonderful experience to try a mango and I am so glad I did. I had never had kale either and I actually made another batch of kale chips the other day and devoured them. I actually crave mango now to just have a little cup full of those delicious sweet chunks. One of the green mangoes I bought from the cheap grocery store is sitting on my counter to see if I can get it to ripen so I can inhale its goodness.
I think with fruits they are the easiest things to add into a diet. Also, when I say diet I mean just what you eat, not the “I have to lose __ pounds” kind of diet. Fruits are a fantastic snack and while I’m still daydreaming about that perfect glass of mango lemonade, they are useful in smoothies and other drinks. You can also buy them frozen and use them for those purposes if you don’t want to shell out for a fresh mango.
I must reiterate that I actually don’t have many fruits to try on my list. I’m an avid fruit eater honestly whenever I decide to try new things but there are a few I may try to throw on here that I eat often but don’t think enough people eat. I just wanted to bring a little brightness to the wintry vegetables I’ve been sampling and showing y’all. I’ve already got next week’s pick lined up and recipes in the wings so be sure you stick around to see what it is tomorrow. In the mean time go buy a mango and eat it right off the peel.
