Artichokes Conclusion

I’m just going to come right out and say it. Buying artichokes every grocery trip would be a pain. If I ever host a fancy dinner party or just any kind of dinner party because that is fancier than I am now, I’d make artichokes. There is just something special and tasty about food you work for, but I am not about that life when I just want to eat dinner before 8 P.M. after work.

In all of my research, which is just me trying to figure out exactly how to eat it and what parts I can eat, artichokes are a big west coast treat. Here in the south we have pretty rich little appetizer dishes and while they are absolutely delicious, the artichoke would be a nice light thing to eat.

It’s so weird to look at though and realize you don’t actually get to take a big bite out of it You discard some of the outer leaves, scoop out the inside bits and you have to scrape a little bit of meat off the leaves. Yes, that is a quite a bit of work for what is just a fair amount of food. Quality over quantity should be the main takeaway here. I think that everyone should try them just as an appetizer kind of thing, that’s the most harmless way to try new things really. It isn’t quite a meal, but not really a snack so you devote more of yourself to the dish.

I’ve heard you can grill artichokes, put them in a crock pot with a bit of wine and even fry them so the possibilities to cooking them seem endless, you just have to be sure to devote some time to them. I think you will be pleasantly surprised if you try them though, and a little bit more confident in the kitchen when you cook them.
