So radishes are delicious, and this has to be delicious too, right? Let me just put all of my hopes and dreams for daikon radish right here and hope it never lets me down. For real though, this was one of the first things I listed when I first made my list for this blog. I’m sure it doesn’t have much of a flavor, but just maybe it does?
I’ve mostly seen them used in Asian dishes and I know we’re still fairly fresh from lotus root, but I had to get them when I saw them. They are actually a winter vegetable, and again, another root vegetable. The leafy stuff still needs some time to sprout and flourish for future posts so roots it is!
I’m currently facing one of those weird things where before I actually buy it, I see stuff all the time I want to try with them. Now that I have them, I’m having trouble remembering all the stuff I wanted to use them for, but I’m sure it’ll come back to me. Even though they are a winter root I still think they seem fresh and they remind me slightly of a horseradish root.
I’m going to keep scouring the internet for the recipes I forgot, but if you have some tasty suggestions feel free to drop them in the suggestions page! Didn’t know that we had one? It has been there for twenty weeks and is always open for new fruits, veggies, recipes or even shops to check out for some neat stuff. I’ll be sure to give credit if I use it and I can always amend my list. Check it out, check out daikon radish and check out some older posts to catch up on all you have missed!
