Beets Conclusion

Know what was just a pleasant little visit? Beets. I hope they return to my house several more times this year and then some. I will never besmirch another beet again, unless it is prepared in a way that is disgusting such as canning them.

I would also like to say that I have shown great restraint in holding back puns and pop culture references when there is a major band that sings “Killer Tofu” from the 90’s called the Beets and Dwight Schrute in general. I really had to try hard to not nonstop drop references to these things because this is about the food. Ok so I made like two word puns in the first post but whatever, I did my best y’all.

I like to think that this blog shows you all the good and the bad. You see so many food blogs where they probably bought like ten pounds worth of ingredients just to get the absolute perfect dish in looks and taste. I only bought one bunch each of these things and I was so ready to keep telling you all that they were nasty and we should all resign to a beet-less life.

What I’m trying to get at is that I don’t want to be that perfect little food blogger. There have been so many things that look absolutely delectable but taste like not absolutely delectable for lack of a better word and to avoid nasty words. I’d like to think that I am like all of you, buying the same things every week at the store, same recipes each time I cook and really just doing the best I can with what I got.

Even though there has only really been a handful of things I can say that I would continue to buy and the year is already half over I don’t think that is going to stop me and it shouldn’t stop any of you from trying new things. I hope you all now have beets in your home or a new produce pick in your kitchen!
